Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner Consultant conducts psychiatric assessments and presents them at team/treatment planning meetings, prescribes psychotropic medications, supervises the treatment team in psychiatric history assessment, collaborates with RN in physical health assessment, provides on-site crisis assessment and on-call coverage, adheres to Medi-Cal formulary, documents progress, contributes to treatment planning, and ensures HIPAA-compliant records in a 1099 contract role in San Diego, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. from an accredited Graduate Medical Education institution with approved Nurse Practitioner program
- Board certified or Board eligible with Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
- Active DEA certificate to prescribe in the State of California
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software
- Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situations
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team
