Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive neurosurgical care across clinic, operating room, and inpatient settings, including histories, physicals, differential diagnosis formulation, and treatment plan management. Independently manage clinic visits, postoperative patients, and routine follow-ups while ordering diagnostic testing and coordinating care. Assist the neurosurgeon in spine, cranial, and peripheral nerve procedures, developing surgical skills through hands-on training and progressively increased responsibility. Participate in hospital rounds, admissions, discharge planning, and patient education. Work collaboratively with surgeons, APPs, and nursing staff to manage inpatient census and respond to clinical changes. This 1.0 FTE role features a fixed monthly block schedule averaging one operating room day, three clinic days, and one administrative day, with potential for weekend coverage and outreach clinics throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current or eligible for appropriate Nurse Practitioner/APRN licensure in the State of Wisconsin
- Current BLS certification
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration
