Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner for Neurology providing patient examinations, developing care plans, and treating illnesses per established protocols. Performs orders for laboratory, x-ray, and other non-invasive tests; initiates collaboration with supervising physicians and refers problems beyond NP scope. Prescribes medications within scope with physician oversight and necessary licenses. Educates patients and families on health, prevention, and home care, tailored to age, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Requires a Master’s degree from an accredited NP program and ANCC certification; state NP and RN licensure; CPR (BLS); and may require a Mid-level Practitioner CS/DEA license. Travel to Chicagoland area for initial training; after training, work location in South Bend, Indiana.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- National certification in the applicable specialty (ANCC)
- Current state licensure as Nurse Practitioner and RN
- Maintains current CPR (BLS) certification
- Active Mid-level Practitioner Controlled Substance License and DEA License may be required based on prescriptive authority
