Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive, specialized care for women across the lifespan, including reproductive health, gynecological issues, and family planning. Perform routine physical examinations, pelvic exams, PAP tests, and IUD or Nexplanon insertions/removals. Manage menopausal symptoms and provide education on preventative care and lifestyle modifications. Order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform endometrial biopsies or colposcopies as needed. Collaborate with physicians and midwives to ensure smooth patient care flow while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and legal requirements. Work Monday through Friday at Lexington or Nicholasville locations.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted, KY APRN-CNP license
- DEA
- Ability to meet all credentialing requirements
- Strong understanding of healthcare principles, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology
- Ability to analyze complex situations, make sound clinical judgments, and adapt treatment plans as necessary
- Effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures clearly and empathetically
- Strong computer proficiency and understanding and knowledge of EHR and healthcare technologies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Willingness to pursue continuing education and stay updated on advances in Women's Health
- Ability to work at each practice location as scheduled
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP)
- Board certification in WHNP, FNP, or ANP
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an advanced practice provider working in Women's Health
- Ob experience
- Ability to read mammography and sonography imaging
- Knowledge of lab order sets
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an advanced practice provider working in Women's Health highly preferred
- Will consider new NPs with Obstetrics/Women's Health RN background
- Can perform both IUD and Nexplanon device insertions and removals highly preferred
- Experience independently performing endometrial biopsies highly preferred
- Colposcopy trained and independent a plus
