Job Summary
Perform complete, system-focused physical and psychosocial examinations and manage diagnostic tests through ordering, interpreting, and supervision. Prescribe pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions and modify plans of care based on patient response to optimize outcomes. Assess family and caregiver needs, synthesize clinical data for treatment recommendations, and initiate referrals. Demonstrate leadership by teaching and coaching the healthcare team while maintaining current knowledge of state and federal regulations. Participate in call coverage specific to geriatric specialty, ensure accurate billing and coding, and communicate care transitions to fellow providers. Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions promptly. Obtain DAWN Dementia Care Specialist Certification within six months.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the state of Iowa
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training
- Valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with dementia
- Graduate of an accredited program specializing in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with appropriate experience in the NICU setting
- Obtain the DAWN Dementia Care Specialist Certification (DDSC) within the first six months of hire
