Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner will conduct assessments for new patients, perform ongoing treatment planning, provide psychiatric medication monitoring, order lab tests, and adjust treatment plans based on diagnostic results. Responsibilities include comprehensive physical evaluations, patient education, documentation of medical records, patient follow-up, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. Candidates must bring professional nursing knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to customer service alongside required qualifications of a master's degree and New Jersey licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner program
- Current NJ licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry
- BLS certification required
- Holds current certification for prescriptive privileges
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of related clinical nursing experience preferred
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice
- Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, psychiatry and behavioral health
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
