Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner in family practice provides patient care under Medical Director supervision, including examining patients, taking histories, ordering tests (X-rays, EKGs, blood work), performing procedures (immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care), prescribing medications and equipment, developing care plans, educating patients, triaging care needs, maintaining outpatient records, and assisting physicians in emergency procedures; requires licensure as an Arizona RN and completion of an NP or PA program with an MS in Health Sciences or related field.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
- Current approval by the Joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts
- Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Arizona
- Master of Science in Health Sciences or related field required
