Nurse Practitioner - Family Medicine

Job Summary

Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment. Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens while reviewing and updating medical records in compliance with organizational standards. Refer patients to specialists, counsel families on wellness and illness prevention, and coordinate nursing and support staff activities. Adhere to departmental policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols, including PPE requirements. Participate in meetings, trainings, community outreach, and continuing education as assigned. New hires must pass pre-employment background checks and drug testing, obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, and hold a valid Arizona Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing-related field (MS, MN, or MSN) from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • National Certification as Nurse Practitioner from an approved national certifying agency
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner as aligned with the Arizona Board of Nursing scope of practice for nurse practitioners
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Valid and current Arizona Nurse Practitioner license with Prescriptive Authority
  • 1+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak English
  • Valid and current Arizona Nurse Practitioner license with Prescriptive Authority
  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing
  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire
