Nurse Practitioner – Family Medicine

Nurse Practitioner in family medicine works in an outpatient clinic, performing histories and physical examinations, ordering imaging, labs, and other diagnostic procedures, and interpreting results. Provides pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies under the direction of collaborating physicians; educates patients on prescribed regimens and post-procedure instructions; maintains records and progress notes; participates in multidisciplinary teams; conducts comprehensive health assessments and differential diagnoses, and contributes to standard-setting and quality improvement in chronic disease management and preventive care. Works autonomously within a clinic setting and collaborates with the health care team to promote high-quality patient care and safety.
