Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner specializing in Dermatology for nursing-home residents in Bronx, NY. Provide comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, diagnose and manage conditions common in the elderly (including pressure injuries, infections, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancers), and perform minor procedures such as skin biopsies, cryotherapy, curettage, and excisions. Prescribe and manage topical and systemic treatments; develop individualized care plans with an interdisciplinary team; educate nursing-home staff and residents; maintain thorough documentation in electronic medical records using eClinicalWorks; collaborate with the multi-specialty practice and referring physicians; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology
- 1 year of dermatology experience (DERM-cosmetic not counted)
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating dermatologic conditions (pressure ulcers, skin infections, rashes, psoriasis, eczema, skin cancers, fungal infections)
- Proficiency in performing skin biopsies and other minor dermatologic procedures
- Proficiency in eClinicalWorks
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to work with nursing home staff and other providers
- Education of staff and residents on skin health and preventive care
