Nurse Practitioner - Days - PRN

Job Summary
Conduct routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and on-site emergency treatment under the supervision of the Site Medical Director. Adhere to established policies for medical care, ensuring necessary documentation in SOAP format and utilizing available in-house resources. Maintain patient confidentiality and provide input into facility mandatory committees as requested. Report concerns to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator and communicate scheduling changes. Requires current Nurse Practitioner licensure, CPR certification, and flexibility to rotate hours and shifts for coverage.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience
- corrections experience
- Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification
- Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population
- ability to work effectively in the corrections environment
- Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours and shifts
- ability to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage
Desired Qualifications
