Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner (Critical Care) to manage care for critically ill adult patients in the ICU as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsible for evaluating and treating acute illnesses, ordering/interpreting diagnostics, prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, performing invasive procedures per protocols, and contributing to admissions assessments, education, consultation, and patient advocacy. Requires active Illinois NP or PA licensure, ACNP certification, DEA registration, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of critical care experience. Three 12-hour shifts per week in an OSF HealthCare hospital setting; strong teamwork, clinical judgment, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Illinois or licensed physician assistant in Illinois
- ACNP certification
- DEA narcotics prescribing license (State of Illinois)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- 2+ years of critical care patient management experience
