Job Summary
Conduct primary care under physician preceptor supervision, obtaining complete medical histories, performing physical exams, and analyzing data for diagnosis and treatment. Evaluate patient outcomes, identify environmental hazards and risk factors, and apply cultural and economic considerations to care plans. Collaborate with the preceptor to formulate protocols, refer patients exceeding scope of practice, and provide health promotion counseling. Maintain accurate medical records, follow Medicare coding guidelines, and ensure adherence to departmental policies and safety standards. Complete required education assignments annually and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the State's requirements as a Nurse Practitioner
- CPR required
- Must have and maintain one of the applicable certifications based on specialty area assigned
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of PA/NP experience in Urgent Care or ED preferred
