Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner with behavioral health focus providing primary, acute, and/or behavioral healthcare services in a hospital-network setting, including care planning, prescribing, wound care, patient education, triage, and clinical collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Requires MSN, NP board certification (PMHNP-BC or equivalent), state NP license and RN license, prescriptive authority within 60 days, DEA license within 60 days, background clearances, CPR, HIPAA compliance, and willingness to meet regulatory and quality-improvement responsibilities. The role includes rotating shifts (weekends/holidays) and adherence to HIPAA and privacy policies within Highmark Health’s network.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum MSN from the practicing State Board of Nursing Approved Master’s Program
- National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through an accredited association
- Current State Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state within 60 days of hire
- Drug Enforcement Administration Licensure within 60 days of hire
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Preferred Post Master’s program, DNP
- ACLS certification
- For Behavioral Health areas: Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by ANCC, obtained within 2 years of hire
