Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive direct patient care including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, diagnosing illness, and prescribing pharmacological treatments for congestive heart failure patients. Provide health maintenance and promotion interventions through patient and family education and counseling. Assume accountability for indirect care responsibilities such as staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement. Requires a Master's in Nursing, National Certification Exam completion, current Alabama board registration, and BLS certification. Full-time position in Huntsville.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing
- Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP
- Current registration through the Alabama board of Nursing
- Approval of the Huntsville Hospital credentialing board
- BLS certification before the conclusion of the orientation period
