Job Summary

Manage the health clinic and serve as a consultant to USPTO Management on occupational medicine matters. Perform physical exams, emergency medical treatment, and preventive health screenings, including DOT and fitness-for-duty evaluations. Deliver cardiac emergency care using ACLS guidelines, administer immunizations, and conduct wound care procedures. Evaluate medical aspects of employee FECA claims, review medical documents for OWCP cases, and provide advice on reasonable accommodations and employment barriers. Coordinate training, patient care best practices, and committee activities while supporting the USPTO-EAP counselor.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Possess and maintain Nurse Practitioner License in any of the 50 States or District of Columbia
  • Possess and maintain certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Minimum one (1) year of full-time experience within in the last three (3) years as a Nurse Practitioner in an Occupational Health setting or Family Practice setting
  • Knowledge, skill, and experience required to routinely perform venipuncture, EKG's, Pulmonary Function Tests, Audiometric Exams, and Visual Acuity Exams
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all patients and other healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of computers
  • Ability to maintain proficiency in use of EKG and pulmonary function machine
