Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner position for CVHS in Farmville, VA. Provides comprehensive nursing and medical care, assesses patient needs, plans and delivers health services, prescribes medications per protocol and licensure, participates in preventive health programs, maintains medical records, collaborates with physicians and other health professionals, and supports a team-based, patient-centered care approach. Role supports a rural community, requires on-call coverage, and emphasizes continuing professional education and collaboration with a Patient Educator, physicians, and other CVHS staff. Certifications as an Adult, Family, or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner are required, with Virginia RN licensure and NP program prerequisites completed. Required Qualifications
- Certification by the American Nurses Association or another respected and appropriate authority as an Adult, Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Licensed as an RN in the State of Virginia
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Graduate of an approved program of instruction for Adult, Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioners
- Certification as an Adult, Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner if required by the State of Virginia
- Two years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner (preferred)
