Job Summary

Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical and sexual histories, and make presumptive diagnoses of STIs for patients seeking care at one of the Bureau's eight NYC clinics. Order relevant stat and microbiologic testing, provide treatment for STIs and HIV, and administer Post-Exposure and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis. Deliver contraception services, medication abortion, and vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B, Meningitis, and HPV. Rotate on telemedicine and collaborate with PrEP navigators, mental health specialists, and HIV case managers to offer comprehensive psychosocial and behavioral care. Adhere to Bureau productivity standards and perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Commissioner and Medical Directors.

Required Qualifications

  • A valid New York State License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Completion of a Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program registered or approved by the New York State Education Department, or current certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department
  • A certificate to prescribe medication issued by the New York State Education Department
  • Two years of satisfactory experience as a nurse practitioner
