Job Summary
The position requires a Nurse Practitioner to provide consultations for veterans and patients interested in obtaining medical cannabis prescriptions. Responsibilities include educating patients on cannabis use, following up on responses to prescribed dosages, and working independently while being part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must be registered nurses in good standing, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong ability to manage a busy workload. Experience in pain management or mental health, work with veterans, and being bilingual are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with and in good standing with the College of Nurses
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage a busy workload
- Team-oriented approach with existing team members and physicians
- Must be highly organized and have a good sense of time management
- Informed and abreast of scientific research and willing to learn more about the industry
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in pain management or mental health
- Previous work with veterans and/or medical cannabis is a big asset
- Bilingual is an asset
