Job Summary
Assess patients via health history and physical exams, then order and interpret diagnostic tests to develop care plans. Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, prescribe medications, and counsel patients on disease management while documenting all activities in medical records. Collaborate with physicians and specialists to optimize patient outcomes and participate in performance improvement or research protocols. Supports the clinical mission through teaching and mentorship in institutional training programs. Requires a Master's degree, NYS NP license, and approximately two years of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's of Science Degree in Nursing
- Approximately 2 or more years of clinical experience as an NP in a physician practice or hospital setting
- NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration
- Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc)
- Current BLS (must be issued by American Heart Association)
- Infection Control Certificate
- Current Narcotics DEA registration certificate
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience or interest in clinical teaching, precepting, or academic program involvement in an advanced practice provider training program
