Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including patient histories and physical exams, and order, collect, and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic tests. Formulate and implement comprehensive patient care plans involving patient and family education, prescriptions, and therapies while ensuring complete documentation of all assessments and care provided. Direct the management of patient care on designated units by making rounds, interviewing patients, and collaborating with physicians to ensure optimum care. Serve as an educator and mentor to graduate nursing students and new hire providers, while functioning as an expert resource to nursing staff and serving on at least one nursing council or committee to improve patient care or work area standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing
- Mississippi APRN license
- national certification applicable to the area of practice
- Knowledge of nursing care procedures and protocols
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools and programs
