Nurse Patient Finder

Part-time (11.25h) fixed-term (8 weeks) Registered Nurse to support Year 3 medical students during the Clinical Methods Course at Waitakere and North Shore campuses. Responsibilities include liaising with ward staff to identify inpatient volunteers, approaching and assessing patients for willingness and clinical suitability to participate in teaching sessions, obtaining and documenting verbal consent in patient notes, examining patients to confirm relevant clinical signs where appropriate, preparing and sharing a patient list with Clinical Methods Tutors by 12.30pm each teaching day, ensuring patients are aware participation is voluntary and that they may not be selected by teaching staff, prioritising patient wellbeing, and exercising cultural sensitivity.
