Job Summary
Provide patient care on the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit, managing complex assessments for COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, pneumonia, and acute stroke/TIA patients. Coordinate care with the Stroke Coordinator and utilize tele-neuro services as needed. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to Mercy Service Standards. Perform frequent assessments to detect subtle condition changes and provide stroke education. Requires current RN license, BSN or higher, and BLS certification. Full-time night shift role with premium sign-on bonuses for graduates or experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
