Job Summary
Conduct patient care for Neuro and Pulmonary Stroke Unit patients, including those with COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, pneumonia, or requiring high-flow oxygen and tracheostomies. Perform frequent assessments to detect subtle condition changes, coordinate care with the Stroke Coordinator for Acute Stroke and TIA patients, and provide stroke education. Maintain professional accountability, evaluate care effectiveness by other direct care givers, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality. Work 36 hours per week on nights.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
