Job Summary
Provide patient care for the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit using the nursing process, maintaining accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform frequent assessments to detect subtle changes in condition for acute stroke, TIA, COPD, respiratory failure, and pneumonia patients. Manage complex needs including high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, tracheostomies, and chest tubes while providing stroke education. Work nights 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
