Job Summary
Manage nursing departments by overseeing clinical environments, staffing, and equipment availability while developing departmental structure and outcome standards. Lead collaborative problem-solving, advocate for resources, and implement strategic plans to meet financial objectives and patient safety goals. Ensure competent staff through hiring, orientation, retention, and annual competency verification, while managing budgets and supporting student nurses. Partner with physicians to achieve clinical and operational goals, monitor patient satisfaction metrics, and foster an environment of professionalism and employee engagement aligned with organizational values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Leadership/supervisory experience
- Must complete Intermountain Health's required leadership training and development courses within one year of accepting this leadership position
- 2 years clinical experience
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
