Job Summary
Manage a defined outpatient nursing area with 24-hour accountability, acting as the vital link between administrative strategy and point-of care. Implement performance development by selecting qualified applicants, evaluating staff nurses, providing feedback, and mentoring. Collaborate with House Supervisors and Shift Leaders to integrate high-quality patient care delivery while overseeing unit throughput and ensuring staff competency. Create, monitor, and analyze budgets according to forecasts for future revenue and expenses. Apply systems thinking to analysis and decision-making. Lead and develop a high-performing team, champion innovation, and partner across disciplines to ensure exceptional outcomes for patients and families.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or related field
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a non-Nurse Licensure Compact state
- Current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state
- 3+ years of nursing/clinical experience
- 1+ years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting
- ANCC Magnet approved certification within 2 years of eligibility
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (if not holding a Master's)
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Oncology experience
- Specialty course for clinical area completed or demonstrated knowledge
- Knowledge of standard nursing equipment
- Knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served
- Demonstrated ability to assess and interpret age specific data about the patient's status
- Experience managing teams
- Experience leading projects/processes end-to-end and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other computer applications
- Proven performance in earlier role
