Job Summary
Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery responsible for supervising, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care on the assigned unit; leads performance-improvement initiatives, participates in budgeting and financial planning for the unit, recruits and hires nursing staff, schedules staff, advocates for nursing personnel, serves as a clinical resource, ensures age-specific standards, and coordinates unit in-services; requires BSN, TX RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, CPI NVCI or SAMA within specified timelines, and 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience with prior management experience or demonstrated leadership potential.
Required Qualifications
- Current TX RN license or RN Compact State License
- BLS from approved HCA vendor
- ACLS from approved HCA vendor within 6 months of employment
- NRP within 6 months of employment
- CPI NVCI or SAMA with 6 months of employment
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field required.
- 3-5 years of experience as a staff nurse in the clinical area
- Previous management experience or demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership position
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
