Job Summary
Lead the 24-hour planning, organizing, and coordination of clinical and administrative performance for the Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the Gannett Inpatient Med Surg Cardiac Unit. Conduct daily patient care rounds, assess patient needs, and monitor staff performance to ensure safe, cost-effective care. Manage staffing levels, scheduling, hiring, and budgeting while overseeing clinical safety practices, quality improvements, and financial performance. Collaborate with medical leadership to evaluate nursing outcomes and implement corrective action plans for safety events. This leader promotes high-quality patient care and operational excellence across both areas while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture within UMass Memorial Health.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with employee currently enrolled in a qualified MSN program
- Master's Degree completion within 5 years of employment at Nurse Manager level
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse License
- Broad and thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- Previous leadership/management experience
- Must possess the interpersonal and communication skills to provide effective participative leadership and to interact with patients, families, physicians, and other visitors and staff
- Strong analytical skills required to perform various data analysis techniques, review statistical and budgetary information and synthesize information appropriately
