Job Summary
Assign staff according to policies to ensure equal distribution of duties and complete rounds to assess residents and care needs. Report concerns to appropriate staff and receive reports from charge nurses to complete shift documentation for the Director of Nursing. Manage and discipline staff as necessary while empowering them with responsibility, accountability, and autonomy to enhance resident care. Direct and manage direct patient care using sound nursing judgment, reviewing and revising care plans with charge nurses. Implement resident and family teaching, document all interventions, and maintain clinical competence to assess physical, spiritual, psychological, and emotional needs. Complete monthly QAPI and monitor pharmacy recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Current LPN license in the state you will be working
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary
- Ability to transfer and move residents who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary
- Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary
- Manua dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with residents and equipment
- Ability to perform necessary documentation
- Visual acuity
- Must be able to manage a diversity of activities
Desired Qualifications
- Two years long-term care supervisory experience preferred
- Three to five years long-term care experience or similar nursing experience
- Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors and staff
- Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards
