Job Summary
Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals; establishes cost-effective systems, builds effective relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors; allocates resources and budgets; develops care plans based on RN assessment and reassessment; maintains L&D nursing practice to meet high census or staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
- Advanced degree preferred
- Five years of management experience including personnel, payroll, budgets, business planning, marketing, physician relations and supervision
- Labor and Delivery experience required
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license required
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider required
- NRP required within 3 months of hire
- Must complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course
