Job Summary
Provide overall leadership and management of the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with standards, and coordination of daily clinical operations. Develop and monitor unit-based quality improvement programs, establish nursing practice standards, and serve as a patient advocate for ethical, legal, and cultural concerns. Oversee staff retention, implement training and professional development programs, and lead hiring, interviewing, and onboarding efforts. Address staff grievances up to step-two level and partner with leadership to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. Manage a 30-bed L&D unit with 4 operating rooms and 550 deliveries monthly, requiring a BSN, active Washington State license, and three years of recent L&D experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school, or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain BSN within 2 years
- Active Washington State Registered Nurse License upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification American Heart Association
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Management Experience: Required
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree in Nursing or related field
- Minimum of 1 year first-line management experience
