Job Summary
Oversee all administrative and clinical functions for Adult and Youth Inpatient units, ensuring smooth operations, managing inventory, personnel, and financials while adhering to agency policies. Direct hiring, training, coaching, and performance appraisals for nurses, and serve as backup for schedule management and timecard approvals. Address incident reports, client complaints, and medication errors promptly, collaborating with the Medical Systems Director to research solutions and educate staff. Participate in budget development, contract negotiations, and metrics reporting, while maintaining awareness of 24/7 unit activities to facilitate continuity of care. Lead debriefings during critical incidents, ensure regulatory compliance for inspections, and oversee nursing student placement processes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- Five year's nursing experience
- At least two years in a behavioral health environment
- Prior supervisory experience
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Washington State
- Active and unencumbered multistate practical nurse license accepted with additional training requirements
- Working knowledge and skill in verbal de-escalation skills as outlined in ProAct and other agency-mandated trainings
- Knowledge of proposed and current WISHA/OSHA regulations
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public
- Communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
- Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen and lift up to 50 pounds
- Peripheral vision is also required for this position
