Job Summary
Manage clinical and environmental operations of the hematology/oncology unit, including developing staff schedules, reviewing patient surveys, and making shift-by-shift staffing decisions. Oversee human, material, and fiscal resources while planning and implementing the annual budget and addressing variances. Lead the nursing team through hiring, supervising, counseling, and conducting performance evaluations, while coordinating orientation and facilitating monthly staff meetings. Develop and monitor policies, protocols, and standards of care, and drive performance improvement initiatives based on NDNQI and Press Ganey data. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to staff, ensuring alignment with shared governance structures and Magnet designation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing program
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 3 years relevant clinical experience
- Current Registered Nursing license in the state of New York
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certifications if required for service
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or related field
- 5 Years relevant clinical experience
- Previous nursing management experience
- High emotional intelligence
- Basic understanding of principles of performance improvement and use of data to improve outcomes
- Working knowledge of regulatory and DNV requirements
- Ability to provide feedback and have crucial conversations
- Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employees
- Certification in relevant clinical area
- Certification in nursing leadership
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, E-mail, unit/service line/department specific applications)
