Job Summary
Nurse Manager, Emergency Department oversees day-to-day operations, staffing, scheduling, and 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery in one or more clinical areas. Leads nursing operations in alignment with ANA Scope of Practice, AONL Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and Magnet Standards; partners with inter-professional teams to develop strategic plans, manage budgets, measure performance, and drive education, orientation, retention, and coaching for colleagues to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Requires Michigan RN license and BSN; Master's degree preferred. 3+ years of unit-level leadership in ED and professional-nursing certification knowledge; magnet certification preferred within 24 months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- State of Michigan Registered Nursing license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Business or Health Administration preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing and leadership experience at the unit level in emergency department
- Knowledge of professional nursing practice; magnet certification preferred within 24 months of hire
