Job Summary
Provide leadership and operational oversight for Emergency Department services while ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care. Manage daily department operations, staffing, scheduling, and productivity to monitor and improve quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards while participating in budgeting, resource management, and operational planning. Lead performance improvement and patient throughput initiatives and mentor charge nurses, clinical leaders, and frontline staff to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active RN license or Compact RN license
- Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department leadership experience within the last year
- Emergency Department leadership experience in an acute care hospital
- Strong understanding of Emergency Department operations and patient flow management
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or actively pursuing completion within two years of hire
- Current Emergency Department Manager experience
- Leadership experience in a high-acuity Emergency Department
- Experience leading quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
