Job Summary
Coordinate 24-hour unit management and patient care quality for the Emergency Department, leading nursing staff, auxiliary personnel, and interdisciplinary teams. Manage recruitment, interviewing, scheduling, and performance monitoring while preparing annual budgets and monitoring financial reports. Drive unit-based improvements by engaging staff in goal setting, implementing evidence-based practices, and leading quality improvement initiatives. Serve as a clinical leader and mentor, fostering open communication, professional development, and shared decision-making across the unit.
Required Qualifications
- BSN required within 2 years of hire date
- Master's degree preferred
- Current Illinois RN licensure required
- At least three years of experience as a registered nurse with demonstrated progressive leadership/management skills
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the ANCC Pathways to Excellence Recognition Program model and standards
- Demonstrated understanding of nurse-sensitive quality indicators and basic hospital/nursing regulatory requirements
