Job Summary
Operate the Emergency Department by providing operational leadership and clinical oversight for services, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care in a rural critical access hospital. Manage staffing, performance management, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and budgeting support while promoting evidence-based practice and continuous clinical excellence. Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, respond to operational challenges, and collaborate with Nursing Directors, charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary leaders to improve patient flow and staff development. Serve as the department leader in the absence of Nursing Directors. This primarily leadership-focused role includes regular unit rounding, staff coaching, and project participation to support staff through change and complex patient care situations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Minnesota RN license
- American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS and PALS required within 4 months of hire
- TNCC required within 1 year of hire
- Prior leadership experience in a hospital setting
- minimum of three years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated success in hospital-based leadership roles
