Job Summary
Nurse Manager of Emergency Services responsible for planning, organizing, delegating, directing and evaluating ED nursing services in a 895+ bed tertiary center, establishing effective relationships with patients, physicians, staff, volunteers and vendors. Develops and recommends policies/procedures to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of patient care in collaboration with medical staff and other disciplines. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and an RN license in Texas (or compact), with required advanced certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC within 18 months; ENPC or CEN within 18 months) and five years of progressive management experience including staff supervision, budget preparation, physician relationship management, and quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
- Current RN License in Texas or compact
- BLS provider (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS and PALS within 6 months
- TNCC within 18 months
- ENPC or CEN within 18 months
- Five years of progressive management experience including supervision
- Budget preparation
- Physician relationship management
- Quality improvement knowledge
- Coordination of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to manage diversified duties with time constraints
