Job Summary
Nurse Manager overseeing day-to-day activities of the service with leadership and direction in line with organizational goals. Leads staffing and scheduling, budget planning, and education/orientation initiatives with the Clinical Nurse Specialist. Drives performance improvement, compliance with regulatory standards (JCAHO, EMTALA, Virginia Health Department), and quality outcomes. Responsible for staff communications, meetings, huddles, and engagement, with on-call coverage and joint coordination with physicians and ancillary departments to ensure equipment, supplies, and patient care excellence. Demonstrates strong collaboration, problem-solving, and customer-service orientation; supports staff development and accountability, and participates in recruitment and retention processes. Requires ability to work across shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, and to adapt to a high-demand healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school required
- RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required
- AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
- NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days
- Professional Nursing Leadership Certification (ANCC or AONL) preferred
- Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience required
- Minimum 2 years management experience required
