Job Summary
Oversee clinical nursing environments and manage budgets for unit staffing, equipment, and personnel expenses. Develop departmental structures, processes, and outcome standards while ensuring employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and competency verification. Facilitate collaborative decision-making with nursing leaders, physicians, and executive teams to advance strategic goals and patient safety initiatives. Mentor staff through ongoing training, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities. Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Leadership/supervisory experience
- Must complete Intermountain Health's required leadership training and development courses within one year of accepting this leadership position
- 2 years clinical experience
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
