Job Summary

Ensure quality of care and patient satisfaction through unit-specific systems and improvements while managing assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in a cost-effective manner. Conduct operational profitability management via preliminary budgets, performance data, system reporting, and inventory oversight. Provide leadership and support to encourage the optimum development and performance of staff, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements. Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, and credentials while participating in professional development activities. Communicate pertinent information to patients, families, and staff to maintain engagement and service delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN)
  • 3 years of experience as an RN
  • 1 year as a charge nurse, supervisor or leader
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of nursing practice
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to be self-directed
  • Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to lift 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
  • Ability to lift greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
  • Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
  • Ability to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
  • Ability to work at a production rate pace
  • Ability to move objects
  • Ability to work in a patient care area
  • Ability to work in an area where patients enter
  • Ability to work directly with patients
  • Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
  • Ability to handle exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
  • Ability to handle exposure to hazardous medications
  • Ability to handle exposure to hazardous waste
  • Ability to receive, transport, store, prepare, dispense, administer, clean and/or dispose of contaminated waste
  • Ability to remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
  • Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
  • Ability to ensure patient/employee safety
  • Ability to ensure patient privacy
  • Ability to ensure compliance with Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct
  • Residence in Louisiana (not in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C.)
  • On-site work availability
