Job Summary
Manage nursing teams in the OR and pre/post areas of the new Ambulatory Surgery Center on a twenty-four-hour basis. Open the ASC by staffing, implementing workflows, and establishing strategic partnerships with inter-professional teams. Conduct interviews, hire, develop, and evaluate departmental leadership while ensuring staff compliance with licenses and certifications. Evaluate personnel performance, establish operational and capital budgets, and utilize labor productivity data to plan staffing patterns and validate discharge targets. Design programs ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, and collect data to drive practice changes for quality and safety outcomes. Lead the development of new insights for complex situations and foster a culture of inquiry and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Master's degree in nursing
- At least three years of pertinent clinical practice
- Certification in nursing leadership
- Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators
- Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
