Job Summary
The Nurse Leader is responsible for supervising clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery in a medical-surgical setting, demonstrating leadership and fostering interdisciplinary relationships. Key responsibilities include assigning duties, mentoring nursing staff, coordinating unit activities, and ensuring excellence in patient care. The role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize patient safety and customer satisfaction. Candidates must hold a NYS RN license and BSN, with a minimum of three years nursing experience and preferred leadership experience.
Required Qualifications
- NYS license as a registered nurse
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification preferable or completed within one year
- PALS certification preferable or completed within one year
- Minimum of three years recent medical-surgical nursing experience required
- Evidence of previous leadership experience preferred
Desired Qualifications
- National certification preferred or a willingness to complete within a defined timeframe (less than 3 years)
- Telemetry Credentialed
- PAS level III or IV optional
