Job Summary
Conduct nursing tasks for postoperative patients in the Surgical-Medical PICU under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, managing immediate needs for airway management and physiologic monitoring. Perform care for patients recovering from neuro-surgical procedures, trauma, solid organ transplants, and other surgeries, while also managing medical patients with chronic needs, tracheotomies, respiratory illness, sepsis, or oncology conditions. Maintain competency through skills checklists and attend the mandatory New Team Member Welcome session on Mondays. Requires senior nursing status, BLS certification, and ability to lift patients up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Senior level status in any nursing program
- Must be able to commit to one 12 hour shift per week
- Must be able to work and stand for long periods
- Must be able to lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
- Must attend a New Team Member Welcome session on start date (Mondays)
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer May 2027 grads
- Passionate about the surgical medical PICU
- Intend to pursue a future RN promotion there
- Hospital CNA or tech experience
