Job Summary
Conduct advanced assessments, implement care plans, and provide ventilator support for critically ill patients in the Assessment and Treatment Center. Monitor vital signs and intake/output hourly, administer vasoactive medications, and ensure medical equipment functions properly. Collaborate with physicians on procedures, respond to rapid responses and emergencies, and advocate for patients while supporting families. Provide care to medical and surgical patients, including immediate post-operative individuals, and participate in end-of-life conversations with palliative and hospice teams. Work full-time night shifts with a one-year probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience
- Equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience
- Equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting
- Equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting
- Completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation
- Ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time) as a Nurse I at Roswell Park
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- Advanced academic preparation
- Oncology experience
- Experience in critical care or emergency department environments
- Relevant professional nursing certifications
