Job Summary
The Nursing House Supervisor oversees hospital-wide patient care and nursing unit activities on the assigned shift, ensuring safety, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and quality nursing care. Responsibilities include supervision of staff, effective communication with leadership and floor staff, admissions flow and patient assessments, conducting rounds, providing direct patient care as needed, staff training and development, and upholding customer service and ethics standards. The role requires delivering on-call leadership, risk mitigation, and collaboration with the Director of Nursing to establish goals for clinical services; shifts run 7:00PM–7:30AM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for a 36-hour week. The position emphasizes leadership, safety, and continuous improvement in a high-acuity psychiatric hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BSN/MSN preferred
- 1-2 years experience in acute psychiatric setting and demonstrated leadership ability preferred
- Current MA RN license
- CPR certification
- CPI certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Must be 21 years of age
- Current negative TB test or medical clearance
