Job Summary
Teach assigned nursing courses across classroom, online, and clinical settings while creating engaging, evidence-based learning experiences. Implement and refine course curriculum, evaluate student performance, and provide targeted feedback and remediation. Lead clinical labs and simulations to ensure students are practice-ready, or partner with faculty to support safe, ethical practice. Foster student relationships by identifying individual needs and mentoring new faculty. Contribute to the CU community through committee work, program evaluation, and scholarly activities such as research and knowledge dissemination. Maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and enforce student policies regarding exams and attendance.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a field appropriate to the teaching profession
- 2+ years professional experience in a profession related to the teaching discipline
- Excellent communication skills along with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment
- Technological expertise with learning management systems, simulation equipment, and online platforms
- Ability to work with AI
- Create engaging learning environments and exhibit strong conflict management skills
- Collaborating across faculty, Extended Service Team, and clinical partners
- Emotional and social intelligence to recognize student needs, respond with empathy, and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment
- Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, when appropriate, based on assignment
- Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses
- Demonstrates scholarship congruent with the level of rank
- Scholarship must be made public
- Scholarship must be open to critical review and evaluation by knowledgeable peers
- Scholarship must be accessible for exchange and use by others
- The Instructor Faculty member is required to demonstrate at least one example within one of the four following focus areas of professional development and scholarship
- Maintain appropriate, active, unencumbered licensure or certification as required to work professionally in the discipline
