Job Summary
Nurse Extern Renal PRN assists with daily patient care activities under RN supervision, including obtaining vital signs, documenting intake and output, assisting with hygiene and mobility, monitoring for changes in condition, and supporting renal-focused care such as dialysis preparation and monitoring vascular access. The role reinforces patient and family education on renal disease and treatment plans, ensuring infection prevention and safety protocols are followed, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote optimal outcomes. The externship provides exposure to advanced renal therapies, evidence-based nursing practices, EMR documentation, and ongoing opportunities for growth into a Registered Nurse role within the health system.
Required Qualifications
