Job Summary
Nurse Extern (LPN) supporting Hospice units by assisting the Professional Nurse and practicing LPN with direct and indirect patient-care activities. Responsibilities include admission, transfer, and discharge support; performing procedures per the Nursing Extern Skill Sheet; timely observation and documentation of care; assisting with complex treatments, ensuring safety and infection-control compliance, and conducting routine rounds. The role emphasizes patient comfort and safety, assisting with ADL and personal hygiene, maintaining equipment, following charge procedures for patient items, and delivering age-appropriate care. Requires High School diploma or equivalent, enrollment in an accredited nursing program, strong communication, knowledge of medical terminology, and a current BLS card.
Required Qualifications
